Closer observation from fresh perspectives

For more than a decade, China’s miraculous economic growth has been the subject of Western attention. Yet, behind the media frenzy, China’s internal woes and challenges have been conveniently overlooked - some vital elements of the China Story are missing. The China Development Forum aims to fill the vacuum by offering a fresh perspective. We believe that China is undergoing another revolution, and with it comes a fascinating array of areas that can reshape it in profound ways.

Powerful insights from authoritative academics and practitioners

With an impressive line-up of speakers, who are amongst the most authoritative academics and influential practitioners of China’s  transformation, our one-day forum examines exciting topics ranging from how new media is reshaping the Chinese ethos, sustainable urban planning, to ways of tapping into the innovative minds of Chinese entrepreneurs. By bringing together the brightest minds, our forum provides the ideal intellectual platform for the sharing of the most incisive personal insights into and experience on China’s ongoing transformation.

Professional simultaneous interpretation

As the only student-led China forum employing simultaneous interpretation (made possible by KL Communication) in the UK, our forum is fully dedicated to preserving the originality of our speakers’ ideas by communicating their intellectual sparks in an undiluted manner.

The LSE China Development Forum is a prestigious annual conference initiated by the LSE China Development Society and co-organized by Asia Research Centre which aims to create a platform for students, academics and professionals to exchange opinions on critical subjects related to China, to bridge China and the rest of the world through in-depth discussions and debates, and to serve the interest of forum attendees through providing a range of learning, networking and career opportunities connecting global experts with future leaders.
